I’m a writer. If you’re partial to staying up late like me, you might see me wandering around the San Diego area sometimes, wearing lots of black and looking like one of the Nazgul.
For several years, I worked primarily in customer service and secretarial roles within the retail and banking industries. But after working a variety of odd jobs here and there, I realized that what I really want to do is write. It’s what I wanted to do for a living since I was a kid.
So I went back to school to earn my Bachelor’s degree in English. My original career goal was to be an instructor at the community college level and do my writing on the side. Although I admired many of my professors, I knew that a Ph.D. wasn’t for me.
Before I graduated from college, I had another epiphany: I am more passionate about writing than teaching. I knew in my gut that I wanted to write more than I wanted to teach. So I had to make a choice.
And that’s how I came upon blogging. I learned about content writing and editing and writing for the web. Hey, I’m still learning! I hope to say that five years from now and for the rest of my life.
